CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls are showing they can score points as well as limit them. Alisson Jersey . And when they do both, they can make beating even a good team look easy. Taj Gibson scored 21 points, Carlos Boozer added 15 points and 13 rebounds, and the Bulls used a big third-quarter run to win for the seventh time in eight games, pounding the Golden State Warriors 103-83 Wednesday night. Jimmy Butler scored 16 points after missing two games with bruised ribs, Mike Dunleavy Jr. added 15, and Joakim Noah grabbed 17 rebounds for Chicago. The Bulls dominated on the glass 56-41, forced 16 turnovers and held All-Star Stephen Curry in check while bringing Golden States four-game win streak to an emphatic end. "I thought we were playing well before the break, and as a group, we talked about continuing to keep it going after the break," Boozer said. "Nows the time to step on the gas pedal and really get ready for the playoffs." The Bulls hit the 100-point mark for the third time in four games and shut down a high-scoring team in the process. Jordan Crawford scored 16 points, but it was a rough night for the Warriors even though David Lee returned to the rotation. He came off the bench to score 11 points in 20 minutes after being hospitalized with a stomach flu and missing two games. "Timing was a little off," Lee said. "I was definitely more winded quicker than I would have been. Twenty minutes felt like about 55 minutes tonight on the court, but that usually is going to happen the first game back. Im glad I got that under my belt and Im ready for the next one." Curry, meanwhile, tied a season low with five points on 2-of-10 shooting with Kirk Hinrich guarding him and the Warriors never found a rhythm. "He always seems to keep a hand on you and never really gives a beat when his help isnt there," Curry said. "Hes very consistent at funneling you where they want you to go. Tonight it was even difficult to get him off-balance and going the opposite way. They made adjustments from the first game (a home win over the Bulls on Feb. 6), and we were just a step slow on making our adjustments in the game. They just outplayed us from start to finish." The Warriors trailed by 11 at the half and were within eight in the third quarter when things got out of hand. Dunleavy blocked Andre Iguodalas layup with 7:33 left to send the Bulls were on their way. Hinrich converted a three-point play, igniting a 14-2 run that sealed this one for Chicago. Butler stole a pass by Lee, leading to a layup for Boozer, and scored on a putback that made it 66-51 with 5:52 remaining. After Dunleavy hit a free throw, Boozer capped the run with three straight baskets -- a 15-footer, a short jumper and a 13-foot bank shot -- that bumped Chicagos lead to 73-53 with 3:20 to go in the quarter. Afterward, Hinrichs defence against one of the leagues top scorers drew heavy praise. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau acknowledged Curry missed a few shots he normally makes but was quick to praise his veteran guard. "You never can measure his true value if you go by statistics," Thibodeau said. "If you go by what he is doing for your team, setting the tone for the defence with his ball pressure, his hustle plays, first to the floor, running your team -- the things he does, it really ignites and inspires your team. And he plays to win. I think that its never lost on his teammates, and its certainly not lost on the coaches or the organization." NOTES: Bulls star Derrick Rose has started running as he tries to work his way back from another season-ending knee injury, although Thibodeau said a return to practice remains a long way off. "Nowhere close to practicing," he said. "Hes doing some running. Hes off the treadmill. Still on it at some times, but his full weight now, and doing lateral slides and things like that. Nowhere near practicing or anything like that." He also reiterated that Rose will not return this season. ... Warriors coach Mark Jackson praised Thibodeau, who was an assistant to Jeff Van Gundy when Jackson played for the New York Knicks. "He was a guy you knew was going to be a very good coach," Jackson said. "Worked his tail off and was committed to his craft. Im very happy for him." Alisson Brazil Jersey . Venable and Jeremy Hermida drove in three runs apiece, and the Padres beat the Colorado Rockies 7-2 on Sunday to snap a nine-game losing streak. Roberto Firmino Jersey . This weeks Raptors Report puts a bow on Gays brief, 10-month tenure in Toronto and ponders how his absence will affect the teams offence. Are they a better team without him? In addition to acquiring some valuable cap flexibility, what impact will the four incoming players have this season and beyond? Click here for the Dec.With NFL training camps underway, the league is abuzz with position battles, injury news and rookies making an immediate impact. Each day, TSN.ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NFL beat. Nice To Know You The Indianapolis Colts seem to be all business this training camp. The Colts released promising running back Chris Rainey Monday less than a week into camp. According to ESPNs Adam Schefter, the 26-year-old was released for violating team rules and not for performance-based reasons. The move comes as a surprising one with running back Vick Ballard slated to miss the entire season after tearing his left Achilles tendon last week.  Rainey signed with the Colts late last season and played in two games as a return man. Why Risk It? Adrian Peterson might not see any action this preseason, not due to an injury, but because theres no point using such a talented player in a meaningless game. According to NFL.coms Ian Rapoport, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he has nothing to see from the 29-year-old running back in exhibition games and might just keep him on the sidelines. At the most, Peterson may get a carry or two if hes interested. The six-time Pro Bowler is entering his eighth NFL season in 2014. Not Taking Any Chances If the Houston Texans are going to improve on their dismal 2-14 record from a year ago, theyll need Arian Foster to be healthy and ready to go for Week 1. Thats why the running back will not participate in Mondays practice for the Texans after leaving Sundays workout early with a leg injury. The 27-year-old only played in eight games last year with a back injury. Head coach Bill OBrien was asked about Fosters condition after practice on Sunday. "Is Arian OK? As far as I know." Getting An Edge Micah Hyde has been one of the more delightful surprises for the Green Bay Packers this training camp. The second-year player is being converted from cornerback to safety and has the early edge over Ha Ha Clinton-Dix whom the Packers selected 21st overall in this years draft. Miranda Brazil Jersey.   "Seamless," head coach Mike McCarthy told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel regarding his initial impressions of Hyde. "Micah Hyde is a football player. I think you can line him up anywhere. You really can." The Journal Sentinel also says that Hydes playmaking ability and familiarity with the defence has given him the advantage in the Packers secondary. Hyde appeared in all 16 games last season with Green Bay, starting three. Rookie Worries Kelvin Benjamin has yet to play a single game in the NFL and has already had his first MRI. The Carolina Panthers wide receiver underwent a precautionary MRI on Monday after banging knees with a teammate Sunday during practice. The MRI results indicated Benjamin has a bone bruise in his left ankle and is day to day. "We got a bit of good news," Rivera said Monday. "Its stable and everything is fine. Theres nothing structurally wrong. It is bruised. There is a swelling and what we refer to as a hot spot." The Florida State product was selected in the first round (28th overall) of this years draft and was expected to help replace the loss of veteran wide receiver Steve Smith, who left for the Baltimore Ravens. Feeling Alright After missing the entire 2013 season with a devastating ACL injury, Philadelphia Eagles wider receiver Jeremy Maclin is back and as healthy as ever. Head coach Chip Kelly says the 26-year-old looks "fantastic" in training camp and many believe hell be the No. 1 wideout on the Eagles depth chart when Week 1 rolls around. Maclin told the Daily News that this is the strongest hes been in a long while. "You can just base it off certain things that you do in the weight room, on the football field," he said. "And also mentally stronger. When I talk about stronger I mean everything that goes into it." Philadelphia is relying on Maclin to help replace DeSean Jackson, whom the Eagles released at the end of last year reportedly due to off-field problems.   ' ' '
