the 25th-ranked Georgetown Hoya

  • July 19, 2019

Washington, D. Hydro Flask Billig .C. (SportsNetwork.com) - Having lost two in a row and three of their last four, the Creighton Bluejays will finish up a three-game road trip against the 25th-ranked Georgetown Hoyas at the Verizon Center in a Big East Conference showdown. Creighton has dropped back-to-back contests against North Texas (62-58) and Providence (65-53), which opened the teams Big East slate. Creighton comes in with a 9-5 record this season, and is just 1-3 away from home. Georgetown saw a three-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 70-53 loss to Big East foe Xavier. The Hoyas are clinging onto their No. 25 distinction with an 8-4 record. But at home, the Hoyas are 6-1 this season. This will be the fourth all-time meeting between Creighton and Georgetown. The Bluejays own a 2-1 series advantage, although the last time these teams met (last season) it was the Hoyas who blasted the Bluejays, 75-63, in Washington. Providence struggled for a brief period this season, and Creighton sure wishes the Friars woes had carried over to the game on Wednesday. But Providence put forward LaDontae Henton (35 points, eight rebounds) to work, as the big man played the entire contest with obvious results. Creighton shot just 35.8 percent from the floor in the loss, and was led in scoring by Geoffrey Groselle, who tallied 14 points off the bench. Austin Chatman netted 11 points, but made just 3-of-11 shooting from the floor in the losing effort. Scoring was always a big plus for Creighton in the Doug McDermott years, but the numbers have noticeably dropped since McDermotts graduation in the offseason. The Bluejays come into this contest netting 70.8 ppg - still very respectable - and are led by Chatmans 13.7 ppg mark and 63 assists on the season. Isaiah Zierden is the only other Creighton player to average a double- digit point total so far, coming in at 11.6 ppg . Devin Brooks tops the Bluejays roster in rebounding, grabbing 5.2 boards per outing coming into the clash against Georgetown. The Hoyas did the best they could to keep pace with an offensively dominant Xavier team in the first half of Wednesdays contest, as the Musketeers went into halftime with a six-point advantage. But the Cincinnati-based Big East program opened up its largest lead (19 points) with under a minute to go in the game to cruise past the Hoyas. DVauntes Smith-Rivera led the way for Georgetown in terms of scoring, tallying 18 points in the losing effort. Joshua Smith registered 10 points in 21 minutes of action, and the visiting Hoyas made just 36.3 percent of their shots in the loss. Smith-Rivera and Smith are the teams only two scorers this season averaging a double-digit point total for Georgetown. Smith-Rivera comes into this clash with Creighton netting 15.0 ppg, while Smith checks in at 12.6 ppg. Smiths 6.3 rpg mark is the best this season for the Hoyas, while Smith-Rivera tops the squad with a 3.5 apg margin and 17 steals. Georgetown is netting 73.2 ppg on an impressive 47.2 shooting percentage from the floor, and is holding its opponents to 66.0 ppg. Hydro Flask Kinder Trinkflasche . 15 in Hamburg. As their offense looks to remain on a roll without Mathieu Perreault, the Jets begin a brief two-game stay at home against a pair of defensively challenged clubs Sunday night when they take on the Arizona Coyotes. You can listen to all the action live on TSN Radio 1290 at 5pm ct. Winnipeg (24-14-8) opened a stretch of six games in nine days - including five on the road - with a 4-1 loss at Arizona on Jan. 8 that snapped a five-game win streak in the series dating to 2011-12. That defeat capped a 1-4 stretch in which the Jets totaled 12 goals. Since then, however, theyve turned things around with 22 goals while winning four of five - including impressive victories at Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago. When your confidence is high like it is right now, thats the type of effort youre going to get, center Bryan Little said. Little and Chris Thorburn scored 28 seconds apart midway through the third period to snap a tie Friday and help Winnipeg to a 4-2 win over the Blackhawks. Zach Bogosian and Andrew Ladd each added a goal and an assist. This was as good a character win as weve had since Ive been here, coach Paul Maurice said. Its not a tough schedule, its a brutal schedule. We play on energy and I cant imagine (the Winnipeg players) had any. Perreault has scored six times with three assists over his last six games, including four goals in Tuesdays 8-2 home win over Florida. The center, however, is expected to miss time with an upper-body injury after he was cross-checked Friday. Perreault scored the lone goal at Arizona last week and has four assists over his last three meetinngs. Hydro Flask Kaufen Schweiz. Little, who is tied for the team lead with 17 goals, and Blake Wheeler each scored twice in a 6-2 win in Phoenix on Oct. 9. Now the Jets look to continue their push toward the franchises first playoff berth since 2007 in a short stay at MTS Centre against Arizona and Columbus clubs that rank near the bottom of the league in goals allowed per game. The Coyotes, allowing an average of 3.27 goals, have given up 34 in their last seven defeats. Theyll try to avoid a season-high fifth consecutive loss after opening a franchise-high, eight-game trip Saturday with a 3-1 loss at Minnesota. Arizona (16-24-4) isnt getting much going on the attack, either, totaling five goals during its slide. Antoine Vermette, who had two assists in last weeks win over Winnipeg, scored his 11th goal to provide all the offense Saturday. It was just one of those games where, you know, you get in their power play and in the end it hits the linesman and its back in your net, said goalie Mike Smith, who had 30 saves. It seems thats the way its been trending, but going forward we have to realize no one is going to feel sorry for us. We have to make our own breaks. Arizonas Mikkel Boedker had his four-game scoring streak end, but hes had three goals in the two meetings with the Jets. Shane Doan missed his second straight contest with a lower-body injury, but coach Dave Tippett said it was possible the captain could play Sunday. Hes produced one goal and three assists in this season series.
